THERE’S NO STOPPING RED HORSE BEER’S 10^TH MUZIKLABAN

03 June 2008, Ortigas Center – Red Horse Beer Muziklaban once again proves that it is the name to reckon with in discovering fresh breed of talents whose extra strong spunk keeps the Philippine rock music alive and kicking.

No other than the country’s rock legends led by icon Pepe Smith welcomed the six-month celebration of Red Horse Beer Muziklaban’s 10^th year -- said to be the biggest, loudest and meanest rock event in 2008 -- what with a total of over P1 Million in cash and contracts awaiting the champion band in the grand finals this November.

Drumming up noise for the country’s ultimate rock band competition, Red Horse Beer sponsored a special gig organized by Events Circuit for rock and non-rock music fans, complete with performances from today’s hottest bands Kjwan, Greyhoundz, Mayonnaise and Muziklaban past winner Gayuma; with entertainment booths plus other elements that can only be described as intoxicatingly fun.

Making the event more significant for Muziklaban’s ten-year journey is the Muziklaban Memorabilia, a gallery of mementoes from past Muziklaban winners and rock legends Pepe Smith, Reg Rubio (Greyhoundz), Marc Abaya (Kjwan) and Basti Astardi (Wolfgang).

According to Ray Encomienda, Red Horse Beer brand manager, these elements will also be replicated in other Muziklaban occasions nationwide in an effort to bring the beauty of rock music closer to the Filipino.

“Red Horse Muziklaban is a connection of freedom and emotion. We invite every Filipino, rock and non-music lovers alike, to open their souls and appreciate freedom, originality and the finest Filipino artistry through rock and roll,” Encomienda explained.

When asked what made this year’s Muziklaban extra special, Encomienda simply said: “Sa 10^th year ng Muziklaban, kahit sino puwedeng makirak-rakan!”

True enough, special guests during the launch party were the first to get a dose of Muziklaban’s unique way of making rock music available to everyone. Side activities including Rock-eoke, Rock-Gitara and Dancing Heads were offered to let non-rockistas experience the thrill of being a rocker, at least for the night.
